The Friends of the Lardeau River feel very fortunate that Lesley Anderton has agreed to share with us her passion for the geological history of this area. In her upcoming presentation, Lesleyy will lead us back millions of years and tell about various rock formations, mountains, glaciers, rivers and valleys. Part of Lesley’s rock star popularity comes from her ability to talk ‘science’ with entertaining, everyday language.

In 1969, Anderton began her 35 year career at Selkirk College, where she taught first and second year geology and geography courses. She also developed the ‘Geology, Landforms and Soils’ course for renewable resources technology students. As an avid hiker with a keen interest in the natural environment, Lesley enjoys sharing her extensive and irreplaceable knowledge with non-geologist audiences.
